I wanted to talk to you guys today about how I am getting my motivation back slowly this year. It all started with me missing working with my websites, blogging, working on Hostwish and that kind of stuff. Well, when 1/1 hit, I decided I would make a New Year’s resolution. That resolution was to work on my websites like I used to by 12/31/17. That means owning at least 2 and blogging regularly plus commenting on other blogs with the help of Bloglist.me regularly.
My goal (which I am officially starting now) is to blog weekly and comment on other blogs monthly. I will also be bringing Hostwish back and advertising it more than ever. I haven’t decided if I will bring back my free hosting, we will see. I also want to join more forums and make new online friends as the ones I had have since left the blogging world (except for a few). So far, I have 4 months worth of ideas for blogs (including this one) and I plan to pre-write them and have them auto-post every Sunday at 10am. If I have something I want to add that week, I can always add another blog in there but for now I am only doing weekly blogs. These blogs will be a mixture of video blogs and written out blogs. I don’t want to push myself to record videos more than I am motivated to. I can tell you though that there are a few video blogs in the works. Follow me on YouTube if you want to get notified as soon as they become publicly available!
The thing that really brought me over the edge when it comes to my motivation for my websites is the subreddit Get Motivated I don’t actively post there but I had the idea one night to search “motivation” on reddit and I found this post which just brought it all running back to me. I even have that post in my Chrome bookmarks bar as “Motivational Speech”. Anytime I feel myself running low on Motivation I’m going to read that post and visit the subreddit to bring it back.
I find that post to be so true because motivation isn’t just handed to you, you have to create it yourself. You have to push yourself to do anything and everything you want to do. I lost sight of that slowly over the last few years but I’m glad it has all come running back.
Anyway, that’s all I wanted to say. I’m interested to hear how you keep your motivation up when doing anything, not just owning a blog. 🙂 Talk to everyone later!
